This sculpture addressing climate change was completed in collaboration with the Academy of Natural Sciences Ichthyology Department. I chose a bone from one of the specimens of catfish, then 3D scanned it. I then combined the resulting digital file with a 3D scan of a mountain, and 3D printed it in the hybrid lab. Next, I created a mold using the 3D print to make multiple colored plastic duplicates. Once all eight were done, I welded a metal structure, spray-painted it white, and attached the molded pieces. The downward slope and darkening “icebergs” are meant to represent the melting polar ice caps and rising sea levels.
