My publication design for a fictional seasonal scientific journal called Awe was designed around an article about the science of avalanches. The cover and spine feature tumbling icy cubes, which actually appear to tumble as they render on-screen. The table of contents is modeled after the layering of snow on a mountain, and the hero of the featured article is a digital collage of a microscope and graphic avalanche. Other graphic elements in these spreads include a snowflake, melting cube, and page numbers in black diamonds.
